Secretaries Report – Matters Arising

Reminder re Cup Finals, three have now been decided and hopefully the Bill Moss semi-finals will be played this weekend, match officials have been appointed to the finals, full details on the website.

Charter Standard

Eight Durham County Football Association Clubs have failed to renew their Charter Standard by 31 March, they are as follows, Hardwick Social Club, Roseworth Club, Billingham Cowpen Club, Sun Inn Athletic, Stockton West End, Billingham The Swan, Londonderry Arms and Hartburn, Andy Brown has advised all the Clubs that their Charter Standard has been suspended. Also four Clubs are without Charter Standard, these are Billingham The Merlin and Eaglescliffe Bazookas who have never completed and Penny Black and Oddfellows who have not submitted this season. Clubs have been given until 30 June to complete otherwise their Charter Standard will be withdrawn however this needs to be completed before the League AGM otherwise your membership could be terminated.

Five Teams failed to submit a First aid certificate as requested at the last two meetings therefore fines have been issued for failure to submit.

Secretaries Report

I would like to start the report this month by congratulating Hardwick Social Club for their performance in the Durham Sunday Cup although going down 3-2. They came back from 3-0 down and nearly scored a third to take the tie into extra time.

Final fixtures for the season are in your envelope tonight, these include matches that were postponed last Sunday, if you have a fixture missing then please let me know.

Player Insurance for next season will be raised to £6 per player there will be more on this at the AGM.

Also you will find league fees and team registration form for next season, please note dates when these need to be submitted by.

If anybody has any rule changes that they require (have already had a couple submitted) then these need to be with the LS by the 1 May 2012, any proposed rule changes will be sent to Clubs by 7 May 2012 and any amendment to these must be returned to LS by 14 May in accordance with League Rules.

There is a new feature on the website whereby you can check player’s eligibility for semi-finals and final appearances, go to Player Statistics and select Cup Finals Eligible Players, then select the competition and select your team (or opponents). It lists all players who have played 3 league games or more and who have also played in the competition. As long as the player has played in a previous round even if he has not played three league games he is eligible to play.

A reminder that ALL Match Sheets from 29 March to 22 April should have been brought in tonight, these include postponed games (Home team only). As this is the last league meeting before the Annual General Meeting then teams need to send in any match sheets for games played from now until the end of the season as soon as their season finishes.

Tickets are available for the Presentation Night on 2 June 2012 here at the Elm Tree Club, tickets are £5 per person, each team will be charged for 4 tickets, if you require the tickets please contact Jes Lambert or League Secretary, if you want more that 4 tickets again please see Jes or League Secretary as tickets are limited. Once again we are looking for suggestions for a chosen local charity, if you know of anybody or organisation then again please let League Secretary know. Please remember if your team or player wins an award and the team is not present then the award is lost, last season one team missed out on two awards by not attending.

Once again I will put these notes on the website so you can check out anything you have missed or to use as a reminder.

Dear Ken Clark (league secretary)

My name is Gordon Mitchell, I’m a qualified Sports therapist and Physiotherapist. I have been qualified for over 5 years and have previous experience working within Middlesbrough F.C. with the youth football team and Northern league team at Billingham Synthonia F.C.

I currently play for the George and Dragon football team. My full time occupation when I’m not dazzling people with my Sunday morning football skills is working for the NHS and also working in my own private practice providing high standard musculoskeletal Physiotherapy.

I am writing this letter to inform you and the local teams of the Stockton Sunday league that my clinic will be providing a unique service for all Stockton Sunday league players. I propose to open up a clinic on a Sunday afternoon providing 15 minutes Physiotherapy assessments for injured players who require advice and exercises to aid in fast recovery.

I would be happy to provide you or any of the teams with any other information that is required. Please could you also refer this on to any other leagues or teams within the Stockton region.
