In the premier division South Bank with a number of key player unavailable met league champions Hardwick Social losing 0-5 at home to a much better side on the day.
The Bank finished the game with ten men due to having only two substitutes available. Unfortunately after losing Jamie May with a thigh injury in the first half Sam Greenfield taking over with the score 0-2, then Chris Watson with a twisted knee Matty Morgan taking over five minutes after halftime with the score 0-3. This was followed by Anthony Reed kneed in the back causing breathing difficulty he had to leave the field as a precaution with the score 0-4. Then to end a miserable day Martin Laing unfortunately scored an own goal to make the final score 0-5. Mark Taylor had his best game so far he was pipped by Adam Livingstone named man of the match for Bank with Jamie Owens scoring a hat trick the pick of a strong Hardwick team.
The positive thing for the Bank is they kept on battling away against a superior side on the day when many teams would have caved in.
Current leaders Billingham Cons had a hard fought win over bottom of the table Thornaby Dubliners eventually winning 4-2 to maintain their two point lead at the top of the table. Goals from Anthony Abel, Matthew Ridley, Bryan Stewart and Lee Johnson whilst an own goal and one from Luke McLoughlin was the Dubliners reply.
George & Dragon (Yarm) remain in third place following their 6-3 home win over Newtown and Primrose Hill thanks to a hat trick from Dave Ridgway and other goals came from Michael Gee, Michael Dalton and man of the match David Barkley.
The other fixture in the premier division saw Elm Tree Social switch their fixture to SMCOB The Grenadier as their pitch was unplayable and they came away with an emphatic 13-0 win thanks to goals from David Atkinson (4), Chris Dunwell and Richard Walker both scoring a hat trick plus a goal apiece for Paul Cleary, Simon Robson and Craig Norman. This win lifted Elm Tree Social Club into fourth place however Rosegale N & S.A have a number of games in hand and will look to be in the mix come the second half of the season.
