Rosegale got their premiership campaign back on track with a convincing win over Newtown & Primrose Hill.
Billy Gatenby opened the scoring when he powered home a Danny Earl cross. Man of the match Earl helped himself to a goal minutes later with a fine solo effort, giving the home side a two goal lead at the interval. In the second half Stephen Baker went on a run from his defensive position, he played a one two with Earl and sent an unstoppable shot past Stephen Frost the Newtown keeper. Danny Rowbotham made it four after some good link up play with Earl. Gatenby got his brace just before the final whistle, breaking from the half way line out pacing the defenders and tucking neatly into the bottom left hand corner. Kevin Legg was named as man of the match for Newtown & Primrose Hill.

South Bank entertained Enterprise (York) and started slowly they were surprised by a number of early quick attacks by the visitors the first goal came on eight minutes after good work by Dale Lumley the ball broke to Steven Whelerton his snap shot put the visitors ahead 0-1. The Bank started to get into their short passing game and went close on several occasions with efforts by Davies, May and Watson started to come into the game. Enterprise through Matty Brown broke away and crossed for Paul Bentley to make the halftime score 0-2. Following the manager’s pep talk at the break saw a determined South Bank start to territorially dominate the game with Enterprise counter attacking keeping the Bank defenders on their toes. Jamie May pulled a goal back with a powerful drive after good work involving several players the final pass inch perfect from Paul Barker to make it 1-2 game on. When Martin Laing was felled by a mistimed tackle from the visitors on the edge of their box Enterprise keeper Chris Evans was on the far post lining up his defensive wall when the quick thinking Jamie May toe poked a quick free kick into the net past the stunned defenders to make it 2-2. This stung the visitors into action twice the ball was cleared off the Bank line by Jamie Clarke then Phillip King. With the game looking to be heading towards extra time it was suddenly the visitors turn to hang on clearing their defence with some frantic defending. Fortunately for the Bank Harrison Davies had other ideas by beating three men before smashing home the eighty ninth minute winner for 3-2. The visitors Enterprise were a credit to the York Sunday League and had contributed to an excellent match superbly handled by referee Raymond Smith.

Elsewhere in the same competition there were wins for Mandale who had an emphatic 10-1 home win against White Rose and Thornaby Dubliners won 3-1 away to North Yorkshire Unison.
